In preschool, Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) are woven into the fabric of teaching and learning throughout the school day. Teachers provide comprehensive instruction and a positive behavioral intervention approach that establishes a supportive preschool learning environment. PBS provides targeted instruction of social-emotional skills and supports children that exhibit challenging behavior.
Research shows that the use of PBS in schools increases time for instruction, positively impacts student social emotional learning and decreases disruptive behaviors, by teaching students positive alternatives.
